Recently we’ve been reaching out to city leaders to learn more about how they are addressing growing gaps between available resources and what’s realistically needed to keep up with infrastructure and services. Based on the six themes that came up, which of the following best describes your situation?:*
We say we are fiscally sustainable and believe our current approach is fine, but we only budget for the near term and/or don’t have data to know for sure.
We’ve quantified our revenue streams and liabilities (including long-term infrastructure replacement), but don’t have a plan to close the gap.
We’ve quantified our resource gap and developed an action plan, but are struggling to follow through and implement.
Our city leaders, staff, and community all understand how decisions impact the city’s long-term fiscal health and collaborate regularly to align development, services and taxes with what residents are willing and able to pay.
I’m a citizen, developer, or interested partner that wants to implement projects and policies that will improve the community’s fiscal health, but am running into resistance.
I don’t really understand what you mean by the ‘resource gap’, and need to learn more before I can answer.
Which of the following topics are you most interested in learning more about? (Select one)*
Planning and Zoning
Site Development and Civil Engineering
Fiscal Analysis
Education and Workshops
