About Tim
Tim Wright is a project engineer with a range of experience in community engagement, tactical urbanism, civil design, and project management. From college, he's shown a desire to have a well-rounded education and experience in engineering, knowing about all facets of a project he's involved in. He has experience in water and wastewater main design, GIS, transportation planning and roadway design, and most recently, site developments projects that combine many of these knowledge areas in the complex field of land development.
Tim’s experience in fiscal impact analyses and community projects also broadens his role with Verdunity. Working on these analyses to reveal the true impacts of development, especially from an engineering perspective, has given him an in depth understanding of how engineering decisions affect cities’ fiscal position. He also started a non-profit, Reform Shreveport, that advocates for smarter land use and transportation policies. This has given him an understanding of local politics and community dynamics that are indispensable in working on our projects.

Q&A with Tim
What do you do outside of work?
These days, my life outside of work mostly consists of hanging out with my wife, Rachael, and taking care of my daughter and twin boys. We have a great, busy life in Louisiana, and we love taking the kids to places around the city when we can. I also run a non-profit called ReForm Shreveport which is a labor of love to stay involved in. When I’m not in Louisiana or hanging with the family, I’m either watching sports, hanging out with friends, or visiting family in the Dallas area (mine) or upstate New York (Rachael’s).
Favorite podcasts?
I listen to way too many sports podcasts, my all-time favorite is Colin Cowherd and a newer favorite is the Ryen Russillo show. Other than sports, I usually have a mental health or self-improvement podcast in the rotation. Right now, I’m a big fan of the John Deloney podcast - a caller-based show that tackles problems from all areas of life and shares tips on how we can be more healthy humans.
Music you put on while you’re working?
When I really need to focus, Tycho or deep house music usually helps me a lot. I’ll also put on an indie artist like Death Cab for Cutie or Maggie Rogers; or if I need music to life my spirits, I’ll put on some worship music.
One book (or more, if you must) you'd recommend that you've read in the last 2 years?
Any book that we read in our Shreveport urbanist/cities-focused book club is usually one I enjoy!! Most recently, we read Housing for Humans by Ileana Schinder and Inclusive Transportation by Veronica Davis.
Favorite childhood breakfast cereal?
Lucky Charms!!!
