From the earliest meetings in Liberty Hill a concerted effort was made to keep the staff, and council feel directly connected to the process. This being the first Comprehensive Plan for the City it was critical that all parties understood thier own part, and value in the process.

Because, for many of the people working on the city side on the plan, this was their first experience defining (and later reiterating) specific roles and responsibilities in a clear and concise manner was a useful exersise.

Throughout the entirety of the planning process every effort was made to meet the public in spaces, and at times that could accommodate as many people as possible. At each of eight specific engagement events both afternoon and evening options were provided, and these in-person opportunities were intentionally spread out over the whole of the geographical area of Liberty Hill. Online options were provided as an alternative to most engagement, and a 10-part video series was released across the city's social media channels to provide more context about the Comprehensive Planning process.

Our final event was a gathering of local leaders and community groups to cover the tenets of the plan and to help them understand how they could plug into the implementation of its recommendations. These community members were given the opportunity to learn about the process of crafting new actions that might bring the city closer to its goals but also to advocate for the changes that the plan calls for and who to talk to to involve themselves directly in specific actions that they could assist with.
